Thank you, Mike. This translation is truly a great contribution to the field of psychology. I’m amazed that Janet’s work is not more readily available in English. Frankly, I’m amazed that many of the other founding fathers of psychoanalysis’ work is either unavailable or very difficult to obtain in English. You are to be commended for your efforts. I’m VERY eager to read this book in English; my French is not too good. The case of Nadia is what interests me most about this book; it’s one of the earliest case histories about someone with an eating disorder. Perhaps THE earliest psychoanalytic study of an anorexic (although from what I’ve read in secondary sources, Janet did not consider this to be Nadia’s diagnosis). Do you know where I might find the text online in French? If you publish the translation, I’d be very eager to get a copy.
