I provided treatment for my first patient during an internship in October, 1983. Since that time, my training and practice has included many of the methods within the psychodynamic, cognitive and behavioral therapies. Currently, my style of treatment is best described as eclectic and pragmatic.
My experience, based on thousands of hours of clinical practice, is that no single theory or treatment approach is “the best” for everyone. Some styles work better or worse given your unique needs and background. My approach is to draw from the various schools of evidence-based treatments and provide care based on a person’s specific situation. The aim of this blog is to discuss my thoughts about psychotherapy and related mental health issues. Feel free to make comments or suggestions.
