Thanks for making the translation available. A few years ago I was looking for one, but I could only find a small part of the book translated. Janet described the OCD spectrum in the beginning of the last century, yet because of the discontinuity of knowledge in the psychology field, until recently therapists in this country were at a total loss in identifying and treating obsessions in their patients--if only they'd known about this book!

I found it fascinating that these rats were subjected to restraint stress, given that I have developed something like PTSD after being subjected to seclusion and restraints (in a situation that was grotesque and horrendous, though hardly the first.) Probably it was a case of being re-traumatized after a recent psychiatric hospitalization during which I was brutally restrained more than 20 times over a three week period (I have almost complete amnesia for that stay). I understand that restraining a rat from moving is a common way of inducing a stress reaction; nevertheless, it was an interesting intersection nonetheless.

Excellent article - this is exactly what people with this type of anxiety/lack of self-esteem condition need to hear, AND it works.

Look forward to your next post.
